Why I decided to write a book
I was raised in Chicago and developed a passion for reading at the age of nine. During high school, my exposure to various types of literature inspired me to become an author. This aspiration resurfaced in college, where I began to jot down my thoughts in a journal each night. The final push came when I saw a Facebook advertisement from a friend inviting people to a writing class. Motivated by this, I decided to sign up.
Take a class and start writing
I have been writing now since 2016 and recently finished my fifth book! Once I decided to start, I jumped in. Having a writing community and continuing to attend class really helps me to stay focused.
I wrote down a start date and began class
If you are thinking about writing a book now or within a few years, just pick a date and start. Don’t forget to research and verify the information you plan to cover.
